A transnational meeting of partners in the DP5YOU project took place in Chișinău
On 11-12 August 2026, a transnational meeting of partners in the project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU), co-funded by the European Union, took place in Chișinău (Republic of Moldova). The event was held as part of the celebrations for International Youth Day.
The event was organised by the INSTITUTUL DE INSTRUIRE IN DEZVOLTARE MILLENIUM (Republic of Moldova). Representatives of the project’s partner organisations took part in the meeting:
- theNGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” (Ukraine);
- ASSOCIACAO CHECK-IN – COOPERACAO E DESENVOLVIMENTO (Portugal);
- the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine;
- the National Agency for Programmes Development and Youth Work (Republic of Moldova).
The programme of the event consisted of two main parts: a coordination meeting of the project partners and an information and discussion session with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Moldova, in particular young Ukrainian refugees.
During the coordination meeting, the partners presented the results of the work carried out within the five work packages of the project and analysed the progress of the planned activities and the preparation of the relevant outputs. Particular attention was paid to promoting the learning opportunities offered by the DP5YOU digital platform amongst young people and youth workers.
Participants also discussed the communication and promotion of the project’s results, preparations for the final international conference, the completion of ongoing tasks, the evaluation of results and the drafting of the final report. The coordination meeting brought together 11 representatives from all the project’s partner organisations.
The second half of the day featured an information and discussion session with young Ukrainian refugees and representatives of the Ukrainian community in the Republic of Moldova. Participants exchanged information on available programmes, educational opportunities, support mechanisms and prospects for cooperation.
Representatives of the Ukrainian community shared their own experiences of learning, participating in youth initiatives and integrating into Moldovan society. During the discussion, the importance of further developing non-formal education, meaningful leisure activities, distance learning and expanding opportunities for young Ukrainians to participate in community life was emphasised. Eleven representatives of the Ukrainian community in Moldova, as well as partners of the DP5YOU project, took part in the session.
The event helped to strengthen coordination between partners, facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices, and foster cooperation between young people, civil society organisations and public authorities. Direct dialogue with the Ukrainian community made it possible to better take into account the current needs and experiences of young Ukrainian refugees.
The outcomes of the meeting will form an important basis for the successful completion of the project’s next stages, the organisation of the final international conference, and the continued use of the DP5YOU materials and digital tools developed once the project has concluded.
