DP5YOU Youth Leadership & Best Practices Seminar – Moldova

On November 18, 2025, a seminar on leadership skills development was held as part of the General Assembly of Student Representatives in Vocational Education (PTE). The event brought together selected representatives of student councils from the Republic of Moldova, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities as leaders, promoters of engagement and change, communication, and motivation of youth groups.

The event was held as part of the European Union co-funded project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU). The seminar was conducted within the framework of best practices by the National Agency for Programs Development and Youth Work (Republic of Moldova).

The seminar focused on how young leaders can inspire, motivate, teach, and guide other students, how they can contribute to learning processes among their peers and colleagues, and how they can directly contribute to positive change in the institutions and communities of which they are a part. Participants discussed the role of a leader, the responsibilities of a leader, tools for mobilizing youth, the importance of civic participation, and setting an example in promoting development-oriented initiatives.

The DP5YOU platform was actively used during the seminar. platform, an innovative digital tool developed as part of an international project (Ukraine-Moldova-Portugal) that provides young people with educational resources, interactive learning modules, guides, and case studies, supporting the exchange of best practices and the creation of a community of practitioners among young people and those who work with them. The platform’s materials were integrated into the seminar to demonstrate how they can be actively used in leadership activities, participation in decision-making, constructive debates, mentoring, and community organization, providing access to relevant, structured, and easy-to-use content. The DP5YOU platform promotes continuous professional development, encourages cooperation between young people, between youth workers, between organizations, and promotes European values, participation in decision-making, social integration, and digital sustainability.

“Young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but also agents of change today. Their participation is crucial because they will live with the consequences of the decisions taken today.” – Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
