Event to expand work with young people by involving refugee children and young people from Ukraine as part of the DP5YOU project

On October 18, 2025, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, a session on the achievements and current activities of the Project “Digital platform for the development of knowledge and skills for young people working with migrant and refugee children at the European level” (DP5YOU), was held during the National Forum of Youth Workers from Moldova.

The goal of the DP5YOU project is to develop a digital platform for training youth workers who will work with migrant children and refugees at the European level.

The event in the Republic of Moldova was attended by over 60 youth workers from Youth Centers, Youth-Friendly Health Centers, Youth Organizations, Informal Youth Participation Structures, Freelancers from the sector, Experts etc. In this context, the information session focused on the presentation of 3 support components of the DP5YOU Project for youth workers, namely: Education (Learning) Opportunities for Youth Workers; Motivational Materials for Youth Leaders and Youth Workers; and Best practices in youth work carried out in the project member countries (Republic of Moldova, Portugal, Ukraine). Also, during this event, the youth workers from Moldova had the opportunity to get acquainted with the digital platform https://dp5you.com/, which envisages opportunities and offers space for learning and professional development of the youth workers community. The presentation session of the DP5YOU Project aimed to enhance the professional skills of youth workers from Moldova, engaging with young Ukrainian migrants and refugees.

It should be noted that the information session took place within the National Youth Workers Forum of Moldova under the topic “Accelerating the training and professional development of youth workers in the Republic of Moldova”, held on October 17-18, 2025, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

It is important to point out that the Forum is an annual event organized by the “MilleniuM” Training and Development Institute and represents a joint space for discussing the latest developments in youth work practices and youth policy in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process, as well as trends and prospects for the development and strengthening of the youth worker community in the Republic of Moldova.

Also present at the meeting was Dmytro Ivanov, a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and a partner of the project, who welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of joint efforts in implementing the initiative aimed at youth development and the promotion of European values.

The informative session was conducted by the representative of NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, lead partner of the European Union’s ERASMUS-YOUTH-2024-CB project: “Digital platform for the development of knowledge and skills for young people working with migrant and refugee children at the European level / DP5YOU”.
