Kick-off meeting within the framework of the European Union project DP5YOU took place in Chernivtsi

On January 11, 2025, a kick-off meeting was held in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, within the framework of the European Union project ERASMUS-YOUTH-2024-CB “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU), which is implemented under the Erasmus+ program.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks by representatives of the Erasmus+ Ukraine Office. Kateryna Zhdanova, Project Manager and Coordinator of Youth and Sports Opportunities at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, emphasized the peculiarities of the project and congratulated all partners.
The participants were greeted by Vladyslav Yatsuka, Head of the Youth Policy Department, who is a partner of the project, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. In his speech, he outlined the priorities for working with young people in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of supporting youth initiatives in the current environment.
The project is coordinated by the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”. The head of the organization, Yaroslav Galan, presented the plans and key stages of implementation, describing the first steps of the initiative.
Each project partner presented their organization, sharing their experience of working with youth and key activities. They described how their initiatives contribute to supporting youth workers and developing programs for migrant and refugee children.
Partners from of Moldova and of Portugal joined the discussion of the project’s future steps. The meeting was held in a warm, constructive atmosphere, which emphasized the importance of cooperation between partners.
The DP5YOU project aims to create a digital platform for training youth workers who will work with migrant and refugee children.
The initiative includes: trainings; round tables; sports and recreational activities.
The work on the project has begun actively, and there is a rich program ahead that will contribute to the development of young people and raise professional standards of working with children.
