Research events in the youth sector in Ukraine, Portugal, and Moldova as part of the DP5YOU project

As part of the e-booklet “E-BOOKLET: ORGANIZING RESEARCH EVENTS IN THE YOUTH SECTOR”, participants in the DP5YOU – “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level”, implemented with co-funding from the European Union, held research and educational events in partner countries throughout May 2026.

In Ukraine, the non-governmental organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” held a seminar for educators from extracurricular education institutions in the city of Chernivtsi on the topic of using scientific methods in working with refugee children. The event aimed to enhance teachers’ professional capacity, familiarize them with digital tools, methods for assessing children’s needs, and practical approaches to inclusion, communication, and adaptation.

In Portugal, the organization Associação Check-IN held an interactive workshop in the city of Beja dedicated to emotional self-regulation, self-management, and learning through interaction among participants. The event was attended by young people and volunteers working with vulnerable groups, particularly immigrant children and youth and members of ethnic minorities.

In the Republic of Moldova, the MilleniuM Training and Development Institute, in collaboration with the National Agency for Programs Development of Youth Work, organized a thematic panel discussion on quality youth work, its evaluation, and the prospects for the development of youth research. The event brought together experts, researchers, youth workers, representatives of civil society organizations, the academic community, and government authorities.

Overall, the events facilitated the exchange of experiences among partners, the dissemination of practical tools for research and non-formal education, the strengthening of the competencies of professionals and volunteers, and the development of approaches to high-quality work with children, youth, and members of vulnerable groups at the European level.

The events also helped promote the DP5YOU project, increase its visibility among target groups and stakeholders, and disseminate the project’s results in partner countries.
